The Indian Boxing Council (IBC) is a National Boxing Governing body being registered as a Section 8 Not For Profit organization, that sanctions professional boxing matches and awards national and subordinate championship titles. For the first time in India, boxers will have the opportunity to turn professional.
IBC aim is to promote and serve the sport of boxing, to implement a fair, scientific and objective computerised systems and to establish uniform safety measures and uniform procedures for the protection of professional boxers as well as the conduct of championship matches.
The rules of the Indian Boxing Council governing the licensing of all professional boxers are designed to minimise such risk and to ensure that boxers are fully prepared, fit and properly matched to enjoy a rewarding career with some financial benefits.
